At the Perito Clinic in Coral Gables, Florida, we’re not just focused on men looking good, we’re focused on helping men feel good about themselves.

While confidence doesn’t typically come from short-term fixes, confidence over your insecurities can come from addressing the deeper issues, especially the ones we feel comfortable talking about.

As one of the top Miami clinics for penile implant surgery, erectile dysfunction treatment, and penile girth enhancement, we’ve seen firsthand the kinds of insecurities men deal with every day.

Here are the five most common insecurities we hear from our male patients—and how we help men turn them into strength.

1. “I think my penis is too small or weirdly shaped.”

This is what we hear most frequently from men of all ages. Part of it comes from an exaggerated sense of what the average length is: roughly 5.5 inches worldwide

While some men fall short of this average, it’s important to recognize that human anatomy and partner preferences come in all shapes and sizes. A responsible girth enlargement provider can and should rule out dysmorphia in a patient, let them know what average size and length are, and determine whether there are any concerns about penile shape.

2. “I’m worried about my erections.”

If you’re struggling with inconsistent or weak erections, you’re not alone. Many men in their 30s, 40s, and beyond experience this—but too few talk about it.

Erectile dysfunction (ED) can be an early sign of cardiovascular disease or hormonal imbalance. That’s why we always start with a men’s health panel to look at testosterone, blood flow, and overall wellness. ED is also a major cause of penile length loss due to atrophy if left untreated.

If you have ED, it’s important to act quickly: Every year you delay treatment, you could lose up to 5 cm of length.

3. “I’m scared to get a penile implant.”

This is a common concern—but you don’t have to be afraid. Penile implants are safe, effective, and life-changing for men with severe ED. At Perito Urology, our founder Dr. Paul Perito pioneered the infrapubic penile implant technique (IPP) which is minimally invasive and has a shorter recovery time than other implant methods.

We often compare a penile implant to a total knee replacement—a mechanical solution for a mechanical problem. It requires follow-up, physical therapy, and an open conversation with your partner. But the results? Life-changing.

4. “Even after treatment, I feel like I’m cheating.”

This is called imposter syndrome. Many men who use testosterone therapy, undergo girth enhancement, or receive a penile implant feel like they’ve somehow taken a shortcut.

The reality is that medical treatment is self-care, not self-betrayal. You’re not faking anything—you’re investing in your health, your function, and your future. If we treated penile procedures the same way we treat pacemakers or hip replacements, there’d be less of a stigma attached.

5. “I’m scared of intimacy—I don’t want to be rejected.”

You can be in great physical shape and still feel insecure in the bedroom. Whether it’s related to ED, size, surgery, or past trauma, intimacy insecurities are incredibly common.

We always remind patients: Your partner wants presence, not perfection.
