Penile Girth Enhancement Myths

Girth enhancement myths

As public awareness about penis girth enhancement procedures grows, so too do the misconceptions surrounding what they are, what they can do, and what the potential risks and complications are. Here are a few myths to dispel:

Myth #1: All Girth Enhancement Techniques Are Equally Safe and Effective:

This is easily one of the most dangerous misconceptions for patients. While many technique providers make grandiose claims about the usage of silicone fillers, sleeves, and PMMA, the only solution that has proven to be safe, efficacious, and long-lasting is hyaluronic acid (HA) injections.

At the Perito Clinic, Dr. Paul Perito developed the HA-based UroFill® technique after eight years of research into the most effective method through several medical trials.

Myth #2: All HA Fillers Are Created Equal:

Hyaluronic acid has become extremely popular in cosmetics and aesthetic techniques, and it’s not hard to see why: It is a naturally occurring substance in the human body and has a significantly lower chance of complications than injecting foreign substances.

That being said, not every HA filler is the same. For best results, we use cross-linked hyaluronic acid, which is more stable and lasts significantly longer when injected. Even then, there is a difference in quality within the range of cross-linked hyaluronic acid products. Our research included finding the right type of HA that feels most natural, and is in the proverbial “Goldilocks” zone of fillers: Not too hard or too soft: The filler used by Dr. Perito and other UroFill® providers is just right for our patients.

Myth #3: Girth enhancement providers don’t need to have medical training:

In the era of easy Botox injections and other cosmetic procedures with lower risks of complications, many patients assume that one provider is as good as another, and that the cheaper the procedure, the better.

This is also a dangerous assumption: The penis is an extremely complicated organ and a botched procedure by an unskilled practitioner can leave a patient’s penis and life permanently damaged. Only board-certified surgeons and urologists have the background and training to be able to safely and effectively administer penile fillers and injections, especially when patients have prior health conditions, penile implants, or are uncircumcised.

This is why Dr. Perito only selects the most highly skilled providers worldwide to learn the UroFill® technique at the Perito Clinic.

Myth #4: There are safe procedures to significantly lengthen the penis:

From jelqing to vacuum pumps to silicone sleeves, the internet and the aesthetics industry are both rife with promises to safely extend the penis. The simple (and sad) fact is that a safe, effective means of adding inches to the penis doesn’t exist. The complications from these techniques can range from the embarrassing to the disastrous.

The UroFill® technique can enhance the appearance of a flaccid penis to become a “show-er” rather than a “grower,” but any procedure promising an immediate lasting increase in length is either dangerous, ineffective, or both.
